FAQs
Restyling a bridal gown can be a delicate process depending on the adjustments to be made and, often, the age of the gown. Here are answers to common questions about alterations and redesign of bridal gowns.
Not all gowns can be restyled.
Most gowns can be restyled, but feasibility depends on fabric condition and the requested adjustments. Following the initial consultation, we will carefully assess the gown’s condition and advise on what modifications are realistically achievable while maintaining quality and structure in the gown.
Restyling is approached with care.
Before any work is completed, we consider how making alterations may impact the gown’s support, drape and longevity. Any major modifications are discussed in detail prior to approval, as there is always a risk involved in restyling gowns, particularly when considering treasured family gowns that were made decades prior.
We recommend sparing 6-8 weeks, although the actual duration will depend on the restyling requirements.
